We’re building the future, with exciting upcoming opportunities to join our team.

The Uk’s first electric vehicle battery gigafactory is under construction in Sunderland

We’re the first business in the UK to design and construct a gigafactory with a 15.8GWh production capacity - which will transform our electric vehicle (EV) battery manufacturing here in Sunderland, and we’re excited to welcome interest from people who want to join our team.

Spanning the equivalent of 23 football pitches, our new gigafactory is going to provide state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and great employment opportunities for people living across the North East.

The UK’s first gigafactory is coming to Sunderland

It’s an exciting time for us here at AESC, as construction is underway to build our new gigafactory, that will transform our capacity to produce EV batteries. The new production facility will be the biggest of its kind in Sunderland, and the UK - and we’re proud to be investing in the future of the automotive industry as we play our part in building a greener future.

Creating rewarding careers where you can grow

We’re now welcoming applications to join our talent pools, to be the first to hear about future job opportunities. There will be plenty of roles available once construction is complete, across a range of skills – including positions that require no previous manufacturing experience. We’ll give you all the support and help you need to succeed in your role, including career progression opportunities.

We’re proud to provide our colleagues with a great package of benefits and a great work environment. What’s more, our state-of-the-art technology and clean room environment mean our production facility is a comfortable place to be, with climate controlled workspaces that are free from dirt and debris.

We are AESC, leaders in green energy innovation

Across the globe we have now built EV batteries for more than a million vehicles.

Sustainability plays a huge role in how we operate, and as the largest green energy company in the North East, we have ambitious plans for further growth.

Our new Sunderland gigafactory will manufacture our next generation lithium-ion battery, having invested in research and development to design a more efficient and safer next-generation battery.
